2002:
Fern, Carole R., Fran, and Darlene went to work in Staten Island, NY as part of
the SBC Disaster Relief program for the September 11 workers.
Fern, Carole R., and Fran went to the Salt Lake City Olympics to work for the
Southern Baptist Convention's Disaster Relief Program.
2001:
A total of 12 people from MCKRBC participated in Jericho on the Coast. The group
participated in Backyard Bible Study groups which were led by Lucretia Turner.
Work groups performed random acts of kindness such as cleaning yards for
disadvantaged persons, cutting blueberries and other things. The Southern Baptist
Disaster Team fed both breakfast and dinner for everyone. It was estimated that
about 350 people were present including some as far away as Louisiana and California.
Tentative plans are in the making to attend this function next year which will be
held in the Bend, Oregon area.
World Hunger Day is October 14, 2001.
Operation Christmas Child: A shoebox wrapped for Christmas giving to children should
be packed with such small items as small toys, school supplies, hygiene items, etc.
Three Yellow Hats in our Midst: C. Rodgers, Lucretia Turner, and Fern Powers are
trained volunteers for disaster relief. Gary Floyd is the director of this SBC program.

Ten Women Needed: to go to Jericho on the Oregon Coast.
All expense paid trip.
The Catch?: You will be assigned to an Oregon Coast church to witness for the Lord.

Did You Know?: G.A.s and Acteens collected more than $ 20.00 for the Super Bowl Offering
in January and gave it to the Union Gospel Mission for community service. Thanks to all
the girls and their leaders for participating in this missionary project.
